When Jesus Christ was born
Would you have acted wild
Or helped his mother worn?
Would you have held the lamp up
And shown them to the stable?
Or would you hold your hand up,
Not helping though you're able?
If Joseph came up to your door
And begged a room to rent
Would you let in the humble poor
Or have them away sent?
Your neighbors are his children.
You see them standing there.
Will you shake your heels at them
Or give what you can spare?
